Your first visit

Most people are nervous before the first visit

It is a look and a conversation. Nothing has to be done that day.

We reply within one to two hours.

You'll know before we start

You will know what is wrong, what it costs and what happens next, before anything is done to your tooth.

  • Dr Abaid looks at the tooth first, tells you what he has found, and goes through the options with you. The cost is confirmed once he has looked, so you have it before any work starts.

What happens when you arrive

  • A dental X-ray on a screen

Doctor will have a look at your tooth. If an X-ray is needed, one is taken. Then you're told what has been found and what your options are.

  • A shade guide, filling material and a curing light on a tray

Simple treatment can often be done the same day, a filling or a teeth cleaning, if you want it and there is time.

  • Anything bigger is booked for its own visit. A root canal, a tooth removal, or preparing a tooth for a cap is not rushed onto the end of an appointment.

Most people fear the injection

Anaesthetic gel or spray goes on the gum first, so you do not feel the needle.

You are anaesthetised for the treatment itself.

You can see it yourself

If you want to see what the doctor is looking at, the camera puts your own tooth on the screen beside you while the doctor explains it.

You are looking at the same picture the doctor is.

What happens afterwards

You are given antibiotics and painkillers, so post-operative pain is very minimal.

If a tooth has been taken out, there is aftercare to follow for the next few days. It is written out in full on the tooth removal page, before you book rather than after.

What it costs

The consultation and examination is PKR 300. That is what the visit above costs, whether or not you go ahead with anything.

Every treatment has its own starting price. Caps and bridges from PKR 5,000, root canal from PKR 7,000, tooth removal from PKR 2,000, teeth cleaning from PKR 4,500, fillings from PKR 1,500.

The final cost of treatment is confirmed once Dr Abaid has looked at the tooth.

FAQ

Questions you might have

  • Will the injection hurt?

Anaesthetic gel or spray goes on the gum first, so you do not feel the needle.

  • Will it hurt afterwards?

You are given antibiotics and painkillers after treatment, so post-operative pain is very minimal.

  • Do I have to have treatment on the day?

No. Simple things like a filling or a teeth cleaning can be done the same day if you want them. Anything bigger is booked for its own visit. And if you would rather nothing was done at all on the first visit, say so when you message.

  • I had a bad experience at a dentist before.

Tell us when you message. Dr Abaid works at a slower pace, allows more time for the numbing to take effect, and can make your first visit consultation and examination only, with no treatment.

  • What will the first visit cost?

The consultation and examination is PKR 300. Every treatment has its own starting price on this site, and the final cost of treatment is confirmed once Dr Abaid has looked at the tooth.
